Commit

Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. – Psalm 37:5

There is a malignant fear among believers of the current age. This fear cripples the work of the Lord and sets it back; it reduces the effectiveness of the work and destroys the morale of workers. It delays completion and it encourages poor results. This is the fear of commitment. The word commitment has two parts to the meaning: one is to throw upon; lay upon and the other is to add faith to the process. GOD wants us to by faith add to whatever we need to do. For every job for the Lord, we need to throw ourselves upon the work by faith that God will bless as we exert our effort for the Lord in the work for His name.

We need to commit – as a Christian, there is a need to learn commitment. For every job that God gives us, there must be a settled heart that we will do our best for the Lord. Commitment is a characteristic of a Christian example of Commitment: He will not neglect His duty until He has finished it. God wants us to learn to commit.

We need to commit our ways – we are to yield to God, lay upon the Lord, the direction, pathways and direction in life. We are to seek first the kingdom of GOD and His righteousness, and we are to serve Him because it is right and it is good. God wants us to commit our ways to Him by faith. Many choose their own ways and do not seek the Lord and walk in His ways. That is not God’s way. If we are a child of GOD, we will commit our ways to the Lord.

We need to learn to commit and TRUST IN HIM – to commit our ways is one thing. To trust Him as we commit to Him is another thing. God admonishes us to place our confidence and faith in His as we commit to Him our ways and our direction.

We need to commit to the work of GOD – He shall bring it to pass. The word ‘IT’ there represents everything that we are committed to. Our life’s goals, the church’s work that we are involved in, and the direction we are headed. Commit to the task ensures that GOD’s plans are accomplished. Many seek their own plans to succeed but are unwilling to commit to the Lord’s work for it to succeed. God wants us to commit in all things that will bring Him glory.

Are you a committed Christian? Or do you commit only to those areas that you are comfortable with? May the Lord teach us to commit ALL our ways to Him.

Lord I WILL BE A COMMITTED CHRISTIAN: TO YOU, TO MY CHURCH, FOR THE LOST!
